I wasn't close to Dan, but you didn't really have to be to know him and for him to know you. He had a knack for remembering everybody's name and what they were into. Every time I would see him after a soccer game he would always ask how we did if he wasn't at the game. He would make a point to say nice game or that we played well. He made people feel good by having a genuine interest in them, it made people feel good, it made him feel good. I just couldn't get over how he seemed to be able to do this for everyone around him. I would always ask my self how does he do it, does he ever sleep?

He will be deeply missed, but the impression he left on us, is permanent.
