Dear Mr. and Mrs. McNeal and Kathleen,

Although it has been years since I have seen your family, I was shocked and saddened to hear of the news last week. My thoughts and prayers, as well as my family's, are with you. My mother reminded me of her favorite story of Dan just the other day. I think it is how we would all like to remember him.

It was during the party following his high school prom at the Langhoff's. My mother had gone to help Lawre with the party. As the 'kids' rolled in, all of the boys shed their tuxedo jackets and threw them aside. When Dan was asked why he was not also doing the same, he responded to my mother saying, "You know Mrs. Lutts, this is a very special time for us, maybe one of the most important of our lives. I'd prefer to leave mine on." It is that spirit he carries on.

God Bless you and your family.

Sincerely,

Katie Lutts
